A native Texan, residing north of Bowie, Texas, Jan was influenced at a very young age by both of her parents. Her artistic talents broadened throughout her early school years. Jan studied art at Sam Houston State University, gaining experience in drawing, design, painting and sculpture. She has achieved numerous awards at juried shows for her works in mixed media, painting, and for her sculpted crosses.

After being employed in the insurance industry for twenty-seven years, Jan retired and returned to her true passion - the yearning to be creative. Jan feels her desire for being creative not only comes from her parents, but also from her Divine Father and wishes to enlighten the souls of those viewing her art.

Jan is a member of the Chisholm Trail Art Association (www.chisholmtrailartists.com), and enjoys promoting visual art in north Texas, where she currently lives.
